Regulatory Affairs Career Coaching

Regulatory Affairs Career Coaching
Course Nr. 11

Many career starters and also senior experts and even executives recognise the value of discussing their situation individually with an expert during times of career transition. Throughout my career spanning over 25 years, I have successfully navigated transitions across five distinct industries:

  • Beginning in academic research, I transitioned to a role as a scientist in an official monitoring laboratory for drinking water.
  • I then moved into the crop protection industry, initially serving as a Regulatory Associate and subsequently advancing to the position of Dietary Safety Assessor.
  • My third career shift led me into the veterinary sector, where I continued to broaden my expertise.
  • This was followed by a move into the human medicines field, further diversifying my professional background.
  • Most recently, I embarked on my fifth transition, establishing myself as an independent consultant and coach.

These diverse experiences have deepened my understanding across multiple industries, from various perspectives: as a job applicant, individual contributor, team lead, Global Head of Regulatory Affairs and hiring manager.

Details:

The regulatory career coaching includes a 3.5-hour session with senior expert and coach Thorben Bonarius and takes place in Zofingen, Switzerland, right in between Basel and Zurich. Time slots: 09:30 – 13:00 or 14:00 – 17:30.

Alternatively, the session can be conducted as an online coaching session via Google Meet or MS Teams. Advantages: No travel or accommodation costs, no travel time. Upon request, the coaching sessions can be split into three or four appointments.

Why Coaching?

Whether you are a career starter or a senior expert in a non regulatory role wishing to transition into regulatory affairs or would like to change sectors e.g. from veterinary Regulatory to human regulatory: Simply applying for advertised positions is often not the most effective strategy. Competition can be fierce, and the application process is often non-transparent, leading to low success rates and high frustration potential.

To proactively develop into the new role, it is essential to have a clear target positioning. Ideally, this includes not only the desired role but also translating your industry preferences and considerations regarding job level, company size or other organisational structures, using my SOP Method.

What We Cover using the SOP Method:

Skills

We assess your current skill set and create a proactive development strategy to bridge any gaps required for your new role. Together, we identify high-quality training programs (both internal and external) and relevant certifications. Throughout the process, we support you with real-world case studies and practical challenges that Regulatory Affairs managers across all sectors commonly face. You shall have access to all training courses and materials of Dr. Bonarius Consult GmbH.

Outreach

We review and optimise your application documents to align with your target profile. We review your LinkedIn profile and support you in developing networking strategies that fit your personality. As an introvert myself, I know that standard approaches won’t fit to everyone, so we will find a tailored solution!

Positioning

We ensure optimal positioning based on your CV, individual preferences, skills, motivations, and values.

By the end of the coaching, candidates will:

  • Have a clear and convincing positioning from an RA Hiring Manager's perspective.
  • Understand how to tailor application documents to match their desired Regulatory role.
  • Know the actions needed to bridge gaps in your skill set.

Bonus

The fee includes:

  • Access to my network: Optionally, you can join my RA Masterminds group during our collaboration and receive valuable additional feedback from the group.
  • Access to all training materials and add-ons.
Ongoing support throughout your career transition.
